Fields of Application for Galvanic and PVD treatments
Construction
Door handles and accessories undergo galvanic treatments and PVD coatings to have an attractive appearance and extend the parts’ lifetime, especially in terms of wear and corrosion resistance. Polished or satin finished nickel, polished or satin finished chrome treatments are available. Following these treatments, PVD coatings can be applied in the various colors available.
Bathroom fixtures
Taps and faucets, and bathroom fixtures in general, can be chrome or nickel plated, and then treated with PVD thin-film metal coatings to obtain a different appearance, as well as greater resistance to wear and oxidizing agents, such as water, gas and weather.
Household Items
Silverware and décor items, such as trays, can be treated with PVD coatings directly on the steel in order to obtain the appearance desired and, specifically, to reproduce a silver, gold, or chrome effect. Two new colors are available: copper and gunmetal-grey.
Lighting accessories
Lamps and lighting accessories for interior design find wide application for surface treatments as these allow obtaining different colors that are suitable to the various types of treatments.
Boats, Cars, and Industrial Vehicles
Hardware and metal parts, headlight cones, and rims are treated with to increase corrosion resistance, to change the original appearance of the part, or when the application requires different reflecting power or better friction coefficient.
Industrial fields
Tooling, burs, saws, punches, drill bits, and tools of all types that require better wear and/or heat resistance are treated with PVD of titanium in order to significantly increase tool life.
